James Stirling was born on May 1692 in Garden (near Stirling), Scotland. James Stirling was a Scottish mathematician whose most important work Methodus Differentialis in 1730 is a treatise on infinite series, summation, interpolation and quadrature. James Stirling died on 5 December 1770 in Edinburgh, Scotland.
