Hermann Amandus Schwarz (1843 - 1921)

Hermann Amandus Schwarz was born on 25 January 1843 in Hermsdorf, Silesia (now Poland). Hermann Schwarz worked on the conformal mapping of polyhedral surfaces onto the spherical surface and on a problem of the calculus of variation, namely surfaces of least area. Hermann Amandus Schwarz died on 30 November 1921 in Berlin, Germany.
