Tullio Levi-Civita (1873 - 1941)

Tullio Levi-Civita was born on 29 March 1873 in Padua, Veneto, Italy. Tullio Levi-Civita was an Italian mathematician who is best known for his work on the absolute differential calculus. He published the theory of tensors in a form which was used by Einstein in his theory of relativity. He had problems later in his life with the rise of Fascism in Italy. Tullio Levi-Civita died on 29 December 1941 in Rome, Italy.
