What is reputation?

Reputation is a measurement of how much you have contributed to the catalog of BoP.

How exactly do I gain (or lose) reputation points?

Each of your contributions will be first queued for review. It will become public only if it gets accepted, in which case your reputation will increase by up to +12 points. Otherwise you might lose up to -10 points. Whether your contribution gets accepted or rejected depends on certain criteria assessed during the approval process. These criteria are, among others:

If you become a co-author of an existing contribution, the following criteria also apply:

Contributions will be rejected under any circumstances, if they do not satisfy the following criteria:

Please note that all reviewers are working hard to assess the legality and netiquette of your postings to the best of their knowledge. However, under some rare circumstances, a contribution might get approved, although it has a poor netiquette or is illegal in some jurisdictions. If you find any indication that a contribution is violating our netiquette or existing law, please contact webmaster(at)bookofproofs.org. In justified cases it will be deleted from BoP.
