Ernst David Hellinger was born on 30 September 1883 in Striegau, Silesia, Germany (now Strzegom, Poland). Hellinger introduced a new type of integral: the Hellinger integral . Jointly with Hilbert he produced an important theory of forms. Ernst David Hellinger died on 28 March 1950 in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
