George Neville Watson was born on 31 January 1886 in Westward Ho!, Devon, England. Neville Watson studied at Cambridge, and then taught at Cambridge and University College London before becoming Professor at Birmingham. He is best known as the joint author with Whittaker of one of the standard text-books on Analysis. George Neville Watson died on 2 February 1965 in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England.
