Kurt Hensel

Kurt Hensel (1861 - 1941)

Kurt Hensel was born on 29 December 1861 in Königsberg, Prussia (now Kaliningrad, Russia). Hensel invented the p-adic numbers, an algebraic theory which has proved important in later applications. Kurt Hensel died on 1 June 1941 in Marburg, Germany.
