Paul Albert Gordan (1837 - 1912)

Paul Albert Gordan was born on 27 April 1837 in Breslau, Germany (now Wrocław, Poland). Paul Gordan worked with Clebsch on invariant theory and algebraic geometry. He also gave simplified proofs of the transcendence of $e$ and $\pi$. Paul Albert Gordan died on 21 December 1912 in Erlangen, Germany.
