Adam Ries

Adam Ries (1493 - 1559)

Adam Ries was born on 23 December 1492 in Staffelstein (near Bamberg), Upper Franconia (now Germany). Adam Ries was a German mathematician who published one of the first widely available arithmetic texts. Adam Ries died on 30 March 1559 in Annaberg, Saxony (now Annaberg-Buchholz, Germany).
