Catherine Cassels Steele (1903 - 1995)

Catherine Cassels Steele was born on 17 September 1903 in West Calder, West Lothian, Scotland. Catherine Steele graduated from the University of St Andrews. She went on to a doctorate in Chemistry and studied at the University of Illinois and at Harvard. She taught for some time at a Horticultural College in Kent before returning to the USA. Catherine Cassels Steele died on 3 December 1995 in Lacy, Washington, USA.
