Nilakantha Somayaji was born on 14 June 1444 in Trkkantiyur (near Tirur), Kerala, India. Nilakantha was a mathematician and astronomer from South India who wrote texts on both astronomy and infinite series. Nilakantha Somayaji died in 1544 in India.
